Investment Logic

Investment Logic Framework for Program Success and Long-Term Planning

Developed from the DE Africa Theory of Change, the Investment Logic outlines how the program contributes to a chain of results, flowing from immediate through to intermediate outcomes, eventually leading to long-term impact.

The Investment Logic is a key guide for the program, linking activities to outcomes, and gives a clear structure for both investment and monitoring.

Results-based management focus

All program activities are anchored in a results-based management approach. This means that planning, implementation, and performance monitoring are structured around the Theory of Change and Investment Logic, ensuring a clear line of sight from inputs to impact.

Stakeholder centered design

All program processes are designed to meet the information needs of DE Africa’s diverse stakeholders. All data collected, analyzed, and communicated is intended to be relevant and valuable to internal and external users—whether for program improvement, accountability, advocacy, or learning.

Flexible and iterative approach

Given the scale and dynamic nature of DE Africa’s operating environment, the program remains flexible and adaptive. Continuous learning allows for timely adjustments to program design and delivery. This enables the program to respond to what is working, address what is not, and remain responsive to evolving needs and contexts across the continent.
